MORE SOCIAL EVENTS

Every other Sunday or Friday in person. As long as one WCU person is there, we should hold the event. Post them on social media / through email list. The idea is either WCU Members show up to just hang out or to do work or it’s an opportunity for non-members to talk to a WCU Member (and possibly join us) or help out with whatever WCU Members are working on at that time (making posters, or flyers, or whatever). Location can be flexible.

The other weeks, have a social event some other day in the evening virtual only. But the idea behind the event is the same / open to the public or any member.

This would be on top of the (Super) Working Meetings.

Social Event - ???

Try to pick issues that will set us apart from the local Dems or broader “progressive’ scene.

Talk about posters at the GM.

Create the one page flyer

Send the texts that Peter drafted

Two more canvassing events (1 to invite people to the BBQ)

Have a BBQ that late in the evening but meant as a intro to the CalVilla TU + information sharing with WCU

Schedule day in late August to go to the Stockton Code Enforcement to drop off letter (2-3 tenants would be great)

NVFG

  • Post the new phone banking script to get feedback
  • We need to edit the pledge to account for Harris
    • Need to put more things to Josh - have a thing that needs to be done like Sanction Israel
  • We need to work with Members to work on social media posts about Harris’s historic and current record on Israel/Palestine to correct the record + her relationship to the tech bros
  • Canvassing: If we can hand out links to the handbook and general TU is good stuff + Palestine stuff to make that work neutral.
  • If we can find tabling, then we can do TU + Labor + NVFG 2:1 ratio on non-political actions (Food4Less worker co-op; Rancho San Miguel’s)
    • We need to make spanish version of the pledge; include Sheinbaum’s quote on the spanish literature
  • Schedule phone banking days.
  • Make the posts for the petition and start sharing and getting signatures

Task

  • Take the Chima for Congress Under 18 Volunteer Form and Convert for WCU
  • For people under 18, have optional 100% off coupon for member registration
    • PUT ON AGENDA FOR GENERAL MEETING
