Labor for Palestine Union Outreach

Timeline: January 2 – January 30

Side-Quest Thread

At the General Meeting, we voted to begin outreach to local union political committees, asking if they would like to join the National Labor Network for Ceasefire’s Resolution.

Below are the meeting notes:

We agreed to put together a small package that introduces the subject to these committees. If there is interest, we can create a toolkit for union activists to help them persuade their coworkers.

If you’re interested in this or have ideas about how to begin, please leave a reply below. We likely already have contact information for local unions somewhere on here or the drive.

Objective/Goal for this Side-Quest:

Connect with local unions so we can support each other during strikes/actions/events.

Deadline

End of June

@Bozzii, should we invite some of the people who came to the post-election event, or were regularly at the protests to a meeting to help put together this toolkit? Maybe we can convince them to join WCU

Also, we should mail the toolkit out to people who signed our petition(s). I know some of them were in unions.

That’s a great idea! We could also use the meeting as an opportunity to strategize how we want go about organizing if for Palestine from now on. I know it’s no longer a focus campaign, but it might be valuable insight that can apply to other campaign as well.

I made a Labor for Palestine Union Outreach Planning - Schej link so we can figure out a time with the others.

@Tanner do you want to come to this meeting too? It’s for planning union outreach with the National Labor Network for a Ceasefire Resolution.

Added my availability!

We still need to collect contact information and collect information on if they have any public campaigns (for contracts or policy) that we could use to make outreach to them easier.
