Side-Quest: Recovering the Struggles of Immigrants

I offered to take our translation device to the event and they said they’re going to have one more meeting to plan logistics, and they will let us know if we can help out in some other way.

Worker’s Voice: “Recovering the Struggles of Immigrants”

The bulk of the steering committee discussion centered around potentially endorsing a public forum being hosted by Worker’s Voice. The topic, as the name above suggests, is about the history and the current state of immigrant rights and struggles.

The public forum can only be endorsed via a Side Quest, which requires a majority of non steering committee members to get on board. @chima created a forum post (linked here) to hold the vote remotely due to lack of general membership during this steering committee meeting.

One thing @Adri_Martinez and @ckposadas brought up was that if we vote to endorse, we should try to incorporate some of our work into it somehow and the Know Your Rights materials that everyone worked on was brought up as something we could share.

I spoke with the folks now running the CCIB and they said it’s okay that we remove the check in pages - we don’t have any WCU Members working on the booth anymore so they can’t access the information of people who sign up anyway.
