This is already done, but we should have some onboarding set up so people don’t just join and not know what to do.
I’m just throwing out ideas below, but hopefully someone has time to think through an onboarding process!
- Welcome message
- Pinned message with group purpose, rules, resources, etc.
- Ask new members to introduce themselves
- Have someone from WCU DM new members to introduce the organization
- Ask why they joined

Purpose of the Flyer
- Attract tenants to join the CalVilla TA WhatsApp group
- Serve as an entry point for tenants to join the Tenant Association
- Could highlight solving the cockroach issue without involving code enforcement
Key Elements
- A headline so people know what the flyer is about
- Why should they join? To get useful information, stay connected with neighbors, share landlord concerns, and access tenant resources. Stop being isolated!
- QR code to join
- What issues might resonate with them? Delays with repairs? Management not clearly communicating policies?
- We can’t get change unless we all engage and do our part in the community!
- A community by tenants, for tenants

Invite Tenants to WhatsApp Group
If you have a free evening, please sign up to text and call tenants for whom we already have contact information to invite them to the WhatsApp group. You will be given a list of about ten tenants.
We should ask tenants if they want to canvas with us on the 25th.
Right now, a couple of people have done most of the outreach, but it’s harder for a few people to keep many tenants up to date. If we split up the responsibility, we can get updates out to the tenants more often.
